To address the needs of an aging society, Kyoto University and Gakken Holdings have jointly established a new company, "Gerok," focusing on the development of anti-aging drugs and health management solutions. Its core areas include:

Targeting the anti-aging gene α-Klotho: Developing small molecule compounds that activate this gene to slow aging and related diseases (such as dementia);

AI-assisted cognitive assessment system: Using big data to build an aging monitoring platform;

Healthcare product commercialization: Plan to launch health products based on research findings by 2027.

This project is a typical example of Japan transforming academic research into commercial practice, aiming to create a sustainable cycle of 'research and development–industry–social application'.
